Make a Custom Signature
This website lets you pick a background image, write text on that image, and then save the result. You can then use that image any way you want, though most people use it as a signature for forums. You can link directly to the image on our site, or save it and do whatever you want with it.
How to Create a Signature
Making your very own signature is easy. There are three basic steps:
- Type in the info you want to display.
Fill in as much information as you want in the text boxes on the home page. It's ok to leave some blank. FreeForumSignatures.com automagically resizes the text based on how much you put in there. You can change the left hand column of headers by selecting in the dropdown to "Show _____ headers". Or you can type in what you want in the left hand column too.
- Pick a background image.
Look over the background images and select the one you want by clicking the little round circle next to its name. The color of the text will be based on how dark or how light the background image is.
- Click the "Make Graphic Signature" button.
That's it. FreeForumSignatures.com will do the rest. Based on how much you typed and which image you selected, FreeForumSignatures.com will put a nice transparent image behind the text to give it better contrast. FreeForumSignatures.com will also resize the text so it fits better, taking into consideration both the horizontal and veritcal dimensions of what you typed.
Using Your Signature
To get the image to show up in your signature of your favorite forum, you're going to highlight the URL, right click with your mouse, and select "Copy".
Note: Make sure you have the entire URL selected before you try to copy!
Look around your forum for the "User CP" or "Profile" or "Edit Signature" section of the website until you see something that resembles this:
This example forum supports BBCode or HTML. You'll need to figure out what your target forum uses, or you can do trial-and-error.
BBCode is the most popular forum coding format. For BBCode, you'll want to put
[img] in front of your signature's URL and
[/img] behind the URL, so what you type in the signature box would look like:
[img]http://freeforumsignatures.com/49f2423e0a359.jpg[/img]
That's all you need for BBCode.
HTML is supported by some forums. In front of your signature's URL you'll put
<img src=" and on the back of the URL you'll put
"> to make something that looks like:
<img src="http://freeforumsignatures.com/49f2423e0a359.jpg">
Note: You must use the URL for your image and not the sample URL on this page.
If you have any questions or problems at all, please feel free to post on our
forums.
